Getting started

Connect Confluence (optional)

Link your Confluence site to MeetAndy so Andy can read and write Confluence pages in your Spaces.

Connecting Confluence is optional. If your team writes specs, runbooks, or design notes in Confluence, this lets Andy read pages you reference and write content back (drafts, updates, attachments, inline images). If your team doesn't use Confluence, skip ahead to Create a Space.

This is an admin-only step. Jira must be connected first. MeetAndy uses the same Forge app for both products, and the Confluence install isn't available until Jira is set up.

Connect your Confluence site

  1. Open Manage → Integrations from the sidebar.
  2. Find the Confluence card and click Connect.
  3. On the Confluence integration page, click Install on Confluence. A new tab opens to the Atlassian Marketplace.
  4. Approve the MeetAndy Assistant install on your Atlassian site. Atlassian walks you through.
  5. Return to the MeetAndy tab and click Check Connection Status. Once Atlassian finishes setting up the app, the integration switches to Connected.

The install can take a few seconds to register on Atlassian's side. If Check Connection Status still says "Not yet connected," wait a minute and try again.

If the Install on Confluence button is disabled with the message "Set up Jira to enable Confluence," go to Connect Jira first and finish that flow.

Connecting the integration enables Confluence for the whole company. To tell Andy which Confluence space corresponds to a given MeetAndy Space, link them in Space settings:

  1. Open the MeetAndy Space and click Settings.
  2. In the Confluence section, click Add Confluence space and pick from the dropdown.
  3. Save.

You can link more than one Confluence space to a single MeetAndy Space. The same Confluence space can also be linked to multiple MeetAndy Spaces, which is useful when several teams share documentation.

What Andy uses Confluence for

Once linked, Andy can:

  • Read pages when you reference them by URL or title in Slack or the web app.
  • Create new pages, published or saved as a draft for you to review.
  • Update existing pages, including content, title, or labels.
  • Upload attachments and inline images as part of a page.

See Reading and writing pages for details on what Andy can do once Confluence is linked to a Space.

Disconnecting

To remove the Confluence integration:

  1. Open Manage → Integrations → Confluence in MeetAndy.
  2. Click Disconnect.
  3. MeetAndy will tell you to also uninstall the app from inside Confluence. Go to Confluence → Apps → Manage your apps, find MeetAndy Assistant, and uninstall it.

Disconnecting Confluence does not remove the Jira integration. They share an install but track state independently.
